Overview
Profectus is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to support the planning, delivery and governance of procurement activities within a Defence environment.
This opportunity suits an individual who is comfortable leading procurement activities, coordinating teams and stakeholders, and operating across procurement strategy, sourcing, contract management and compliance within structured, policy-driven settings. Must have active AGSVA NV1 security clearance. Position is in Canberra.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and manage end-to-end procurement activities in accordance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Defence procurement policies
* Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to procurement staff, evaluation teams or work packages as required
* Plan, prioritise and manage procurement activities across multiple projects or streams
* Develop and maintain procurement documentation, including procurement strategies, tender documentation and evaluation artefacts
* Oversee tendering and evaluation activities, ensuring probity, fairness and value-for-money principles are applied
* Provide procurement governance, assurance and compliance oversight across programs and projects
* Support contract establishment, variations and supplier performance management
* Identify and manage procurement, commercial and probity risks
* Engage with senior stakeholders, suppliers and advisors to support informed procurement decisions
* Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement capability, processes and templates
Skills and experience
* Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or senior procurement role within Defence or complex government environments
* Demonstrated experience leading procurement activities, teams or evaluation panels
* Strong working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Defence procurement governance
* Experience managing tender processes, evaluations and contract establishment
* Ability to operate confidently across commercial, technical and executive stakeholders
* Must hold an active AGSVA NV1 security clearance
* Strong written communication and briefing skills, particularly for procurement and evaluation documentation
