An exciting, permanent opportunity has become available for a Test Manager
Manage and deliver testing across large projects or programs of work within BUPA Technology by adhering to and implementing of the missions, goals, standards and test processes that have been established for Bupa Australia's (ALM) Application Life Cycle Management.
How will I help?
- Direct and lead a team of Test Leads and Test Analysts. This will include reviewing their performance, coaching, and mentoring
- Manage multiple onshore and offshore test teams across large Project or Program of works and provide them guidance and support with QA and testing activities
- Pro-actively plan test resources demand for future work and provide recommendation. Ensure that any conflict with test resources allocation is managed effectively based on project priorities
- Identify skills and resource gaps and participate in sourcing adequate resources
- Identify and plan necessary skills development within test team
- Attend project business and steer co meetings to represent the testing status and determine any scope changes or Change Requests
- Organize and lead risk identification and risk analysis sessions and use the results of such sessions for test estimation, planning, monitoring, and control
- Take a leading role in defining test strategies to ensure the most effective and efficient testing is carried out, including the use of specialised testing tools
- Work with multiple teams (including third party vendors) to align test schedule, test environments, test data and govern across all the phases of testing
- Continuously monitor and control the test activities to achieve project/release objectives
- Assess and report relevant and timely test status to project/release stakeholders - Participate in and pro-actively look for test process improvement initiative
- Plan, support, execute and verify changes into the test environments, and associated production changes through the Change Management process
- Ensure that test environment requirements are clearly defined. Also, all test environments are managed effectively and are kept up to date with code base
- Maintain testing KPIs (key performance Indicators) and Metrics. Use KPIs and Metrics data to improve Quality Assurance and test effectiveness
- Develop and implement strategies to shift testing to left to uncover early defects and reduce defects in later phases of testing
- Ensure that 'best practice' methods are used for Testing on all IT changes, across all systems
- Other reasonable responsibilities as directed by line or operational manager
What do I need?
- Experience and demonstrated success in leading, coaching and motivating a team of professionals
- Experience in leading QA and test deliverables for multiple releases, projects, and programmes
- Experience with test automation technologies
- Experience with an outsourced testing arrangement
- Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline
- Experience working as Test Manager in an agile development team
- ISTQB or similar Certification from recognized Testing Industry governing board
- Complete understanding of various development methodology including waterfall, iterative and agile
- Demonstrated 3+ years testing experience
- Working knowledge of test techniques, methodologies, and strategies - functional and non-functional
- Experience in using industry leading test management tools for defect management, traceability of business requirements and in defining reporting templates
- Collecting data and measure effectiveness of testing and quality of releases
- Leading the implementation and maintenance of automated test suites/scripts
- Ability to think outside 'the box' to overcome issues and find solutions
