Hourly Rate: $55 to $58 based on relevant experience.
About the Role
As the
Team Leader
, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality services to children, youth, and families in statutory care.
You'll provide practice oversight, mentoring, and operational leadership to ensure safe, inclusive, and effective service delivery for our
Cape York Team.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversee intake, assessment, and care planning processes
Supervise and mentor support workers and practitioners
Collaborate with families, carers, and external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with child protection legislation and best practice
Promote culturally safe services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Contribute to continuous improvement and service innovation
Participate in after-hours and on-call support as required
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a confident, values-driven leader who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment.
You'll bring:
A degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or related field.
At least
3 years' experience
in child protection or youth/family services.
Experience leading a team
in a care or support setting.
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child development.
Demonstrated understanding of child protection and out-of-home care systems, including familiarity with Child Protection Act 1999 and DFV legislation.
Experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children, young people, families and communities in an organisational context.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
A current driver's licence.
A current National Police Certificate, Working with Children (Blue Card), Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or ability to acquire.
