About the Role
We are seeking expressions of interest for dynamic and community-focused Engagement Officers. In this role, you will lead meaningful community engagement initiatives, liaising with clients, community leaders, industry stakeholders, and employers. Your focus will be on identifying employment-based projects that deliver holistic outcomes for the EMG Capability Partner group of entities. You will also play a key role in promoting and marketing the full suite of EMG services to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate high-quality engagement with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
* Identify and develop employment initiatives aligned with community and business needs.
* Promote EMG services to potential clients and partners.
* Collaborate with internal teams to implement operational and business plans.
* Support the development of strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and foster innovation.
* To provide effective support, coordination, and supervision of job readiness work skills, Identification and tickets for Jobseekers within the region for the purpose of effective case management and employment outcomes.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Essential Criteria:
* Exceptional communication, consultation, negotiation, leadership, and coaching skills.
* In-depth understanding of the Community Development Program and other labour market initiatives.
* Demonstrated experience working with Australian Indigenous communities.
* Strong cultural competency and ability to engage respectfully and effectively with Indigenous peoples.
* Proven success in designing and implementing employment initiatives.
* Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and strategic planning capabilities.
* Ability to develop and execute operational and business strategies.
* Experience in driving business development and continuous improvement.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within the Doomadgee Engagement team.
* Willingness and capacity to travel and reside short-term in remote and isolated communities.
* Strong time management and performance evaluation skills.
* Current Driver's Licence – preferred but not essential.
* Ability to obtain a National Police Check and Blue Card (Working with Children clearance).
Desirable Criteria:
* Proficiency in Windows-based software, internet, and email.
* Experience working with industry and government stakeholders.
* Deep understanding of Indigenous protocols, practices, and affairs.
