Counsellor - Community Services (Indigenous Health) Location: Darling Downs Region, Queensland Job Type: Full-time (flexible arrangements available) Salary: $90K - $95K salary sacrifice super About the Company Our client, is a respected Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation delivering culturally appropriate, holistic healthcare across regional Queensland. Their innovative "Yarn and Cut" program combines informal engagement with therapeutic support, creating safe and culturally meaningful spaces for men to connect, share, and heal. The Role An exciting opportunity is available for a Counsellor to join a multidisciplinary team delivering culturally safe support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men. This unique role integrates counselling with participation in the "Yarn and Cut" program, using barbering as a culturally engaging platform to build trust and facilitate conversations around social and emotional wellbeing. Full barber training will be provided. You will work closely with clients experiencing trauma, mental health challenges, and complex social issues, delivering person-centred, trauma-informed care in both clinical and community settings.
