We seeks to provide our clients with a comprehensive geotechnical model that our clients can rely on for design and construction. We have a data-centric approach to the project that our Clients and their partners can rely on for data-integrity and accuracy of the ground conditions on-site.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide high-level geotechnical services to support Based in Sydney or Bathurst you will report to our Technical Managers and will sit within a team of 25 to supporting our professional staff and drilling operations. This role is for a versatile and well organised team player.
Key responsibilities
* A commitment to safety and compliance with all WHS requirements.
* The preparation of tenders safety documentation and technical reports on geotechnical factual and interpretative reports. This will include provision of advice on excavations earthworks retaining walls foundations (deep and shallow) pavements and temporary works.
* Familiar with relevant Australian Standards (e.g. AS1726 AS2159 AS2870 AS4678 AS3798) and AUSTROADS pavement design guides.
* Manage teams through the stages of a geotechnical investigation and construction phase services. This will include liaising with the client to understand the scope of work and their requirements organising teams and resources to carry out the investigation/inspection works monitoring investigations as they proceed collating and reviewing information once the investigation is complete submitting samples to laboratories analysis and reporting. This will include liaison with Clients Key external and internal stakeholders.
* Mentoring and management of junior staff and drillers.
* Attend site to carry out field work as necessary.
* Uphold and adhere to company quality and safety standards.
The ideal Candidate
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or Geology.
* At least 8 years experience in a similar role.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Highly organised and motivated.
* A current full drivers licence.
* Excellent communication skills (both spoken and written).
* Strong Working knowledge of NSW and QLDand national legislative requirements
* Able to work well in a team environment with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software (e.g. Open Ground Slope Stability Software CIRCLY and QGIS).
* Problem solving skills.
* Scheduling of works and associated staff (in conjunction with management).
* Hold or working towards Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) registration.
