The APS 5 Psychology Assistant is responsible for all aspects of office administration in a busy psychology service. They will be the key point of contact for external enquiries, and responsible for managing appointment workflows, record keeping, and psychological test administration.
* Coordinate and perform practice management and administration duties, including client liaison, appointment scheduling, and records management.
* Administer, mark and record results of psychological and aptitudes tests and arrange the preparation of test materials and venues.
* Collate and conduct research activities including data management to support and advise the Senior Psychologist.
* Demonstrate and apply an understanding of client confidentiality requirements in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures.
* Tailor communication style and approach to meet the requirements of ADF personnel in a service environment.
* Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member of a small team.
* Evaluate self‐referred clients' requirements to provide appropriate services.
About our Team
The Navy Psychology Coonawarra section is located in the beautiful Northern Territory (Darwin), and our team consists of a Senior Psychologist and uniformed Navy Psychologist. The Psychology Assistant will also provide remote support to the team in Navy Psychology Cairns.
The teams work together to achieve a high standard of psychology service provision, liaising regularly with command elements, health providers and other wellbeing stakeholders.
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced medical administrator. Experience in a psychology clinic or similar health environment is desirable. This role is analogous to a practice manager, but will include reception duties and psychometric test administration.

* An exceptional communicator who is comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders.
* An adaptable team player with a focus on building strong relationships.
* Experience conducting psychometric testing is highly regarded, but not essential as training will be provided in the role.
Eligibility Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Baseline Vetting" level.
Mandatory Qualifications
This Occupation requires an assessment by a registered Psychologist as competent to undertake the required duties. This will be completed during the interview process.
