Overview

The Opportunity
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to transition into a specialised outpatient pain management environment. Employed by Healthscope and working with the AXXON Pain Medicine team at Brisbane Private Hospital, you will utilise your clinical expertise in a role that is less acute and more consultative in nature.

With Monday to Friday business hours, no weekends and no public holidays, this position offers stability, flexibility and an excellent work–life balance. Full time or part time hours will be considered.

AXXON Pain Medicine is a private practice outpatient unit located within Brisbane Private Hospital and is recognised as a leader in pain management, providing comprehensive, ethical and compassionate care to patients.


About The Role

As a Clinical Nurse within our outpatient pain unit, you will utilise your clinical expertise to coordinate and deliver high standards of evidence-based nursing care. The role is primarily patient-focused and administrative in nature, involving care coordination, education and regular communication with patients, predominantly via telephone, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.


Your Duties May Include

* Coordinating and providing safe, efficient and effective evidence-based nursing care across patient pain management pathways
* Collaborating with medical and allied health professionals to support optimal patient outcomes
* Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient care needs
* Delivering high-quality patient and family-centred care in a team-focused environment
* Providing education, information and ongoing support to patients regarding their pain management plans
* Relieving the Nurse Manager during periods of leave and supporting leadership activities as required


Essential Criteria

* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
* Sound clinical decision making & problem-solving skills
* High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the ability to learn new clinical systems
* Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, particularly in telephone-based patient interactions
* A reliable and demonstrated consistent work ethic, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Commitment to maintaining professional standards, confidentiality and continuity of patient care
* Ability to establish professional relations with internal and external stakeholders
* Commitment to enabling a culture of continuous improvement
* Ability to provide education, support and guidance to peers, patients and their families


Desirable Criteria

* Previous nursing experience in a pain management or outpatient setting
* Experience in a perioperative or procedural environment
* Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty (or working towards)
* Previous experience in a Clinical Nurse role or demonstrated leadership capability
