Your Role

Help shape the future of our organisation by strengthening how we manage our policies and procedures.

Mallee District Aboriginal Services is one of Victoria's largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and seek a motivated Policies and Procedure Officer to join our Quality and Governance team.

This is a unique opportunity to support our organisation in addressing a historical backlog of policies and procedures while strengthening capability in document ownership and compliance management.

A key focus of the position is embedding compliance, risk management and quality assurance into policies and procedure processes. Additionally ensuring all documents are accurate, up to date, user-friendly and progressed through the appropriate governance channels, including executive management, sub-committee, and board sign-off where required.

This is a 12 months, full time maximum term contract based at our Mildura office location.

Key Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated experience in coaching managers and staff around process development and compliance management.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience interpreting compliance requirements, from a range of sources, through both verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, including the writing of program manuals.
- Robust ability to monitor and manage processes with numerous stakeholder involvement.
- Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve service with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications relevant to the role are desirable, and/or experience working within Quality and Compliance business areas in a similar role.

Other Screening Requirements:

- Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
- Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
- National Police Check.
