About the role:

This position is situated within the MacKillop National After-Hours Services Unit which is responsible for providing high quality residential care that supports the emotional, social and behavioural care needs of vulnerable young people.

The After-Hours Support Worker will support staff in providing 'best practise' care that meets the day-to-day needs of young people whilst delivering high quality outcomes for all young people and their families. Participate in team meetings with the National After-Hours Support Worker Team and other forums as required.

We are looking for 3 permanent full-time workers based in Preston, VIC within our MacKillop National After-Hours Service. The position reports to the Team Leader/ Coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* At least 3-5 years experience in youth services or residential care;
* A minimum qualification of a Diploma of Community Services
* Ability to relate to and work with young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Ability to implement behaviour management plans for young people with challenging behaviours;
* Experience and understanding of OH&s issues in the workplace;
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;

* Hourly Rateof $37.35 to $40.05 as outlined in the SCHADS Award Level 3, dependent on qualification and experience.

You must have a:

* Valid and current Driver's Licence;
* Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
* Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
* Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles). MacKillop can assist successful candidates with their application.
