About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Hydraulic Estimator and Operations Manager to join our dynamic team at Advanced Plumbing & Drains'. This full-time role in our Canberra office is pivotal to the success of our Construction business, responsible for providing accurate estimates and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our plumbing and drainage projects.
What you'll be doing
* Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a variety of plumbing and drainage projects
* Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and project requirements to identify all necessary materials, labour and equipment
* Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
* Monitoring job progress, identifying and resolving any operational issues that may arise
* Tracking and reporting on project budgets, timelines and key performance metrics
* Preparing WHS Plans for projects.
* Preparing and developing project start up documents to handover to site teams.
* Estimating and Procuring materials.
* Fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
What we're looking for
* 5+ years' experience in the Hydraulic Industry including Estimating and Operations management.
* Computer skills and knowledge of construction IT.
* Proven track record of preparing accurate, competitive estimates for a range of plumbing and drainage projects
* Expert knowledge of construction materials, costs, labour rates and industry practices
* Excellent problem-solving, decision-making and time management skills
* Excellent knowledge of WHS compliance withing the construction industry.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Proficient with quantity take-off software and project management tools
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
