Position Title: Senior HSE Advisor

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior HSE Advisor to provide effective and efficient Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) coordination across major projects and site operations.
This role is responsible for leading and supporting project HSES activities in line with client expectations, corporate standards, and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in driving HSES performance, strengthening compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across all project phases.
Reporting functionally to the HSES Manager and operationally to the Project or Site Manager, this position requires strong leadership capability, technical expertise, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
HSES Leadership & Coordination
* Lead and support project HSES personnel and resource planning.
* Contribute to HSES team development, performance appraisals, and objective setting.
* Promote and support corporate HSES programs and initiatives.
HSES Management Systems & Compliance
* Ensure project/site compliance with the HSES Management System (HSESMS).
* Identify and address gaps between project requirements and corporate standards.
* Support regulatory compliance, including monitoring changes in legislation and codes of practice.
* Assist in the development of safety cases, permits, and regulatory documentation as required.
Objectives, KPIs & Reporting
* Define and monitor project HSES objectives and KPIs aligned with client and corporate requirements.
* Prepare accurate and timely monthly HSES reports.
* Ensure incidents, statistics, and alerts are reported in accordance with required standards and timeframes.
Risk Management & Incident Investigation
* Facilitate and participate in Risk and Opportunity workshops and HAZIDs.
* Identify, analyse, and mitigate HSES risks and opportunities.
* Lead or participate in incident investigations using approved Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.
* Ensure incident records, notifications, and corrective actions are effectively managed and closed out.
Auditing & Assurance
* Plan, conduct, and participate in internal HSES audits (office, on-site, and offshore as required).
* Monitor and track audit findings to completion.
* Maintain project audit schedules in coordination with QA teams.
HSES in Design & Project Delivery
* Interface with Process Safety Engineering teams on process safety matters.
* Attend relevant workshops and design reviews.
* Prepare and review HSES deliverables in line with contractual and project requirements.
Training & Culture
* Develop and deliver project-specific HSES training materials.
* Coach team members in effective HSES training delivery.
* Promote behavioural safety and intervention programs.
* Support continual improvement initiatives and lessons learned processes.
Emergency Response & Incident Management
* Assist with Incident Management and Emergency Response drills.
* Ensure project/site emergency preparedness and response systems are effective and regularly tested.

Skills & Experience
Qualifications
* Formal qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or Engineering (Degree, Diploma, or Trade qualification preferred).
* HSES Systems Internal Auditor certification.
* Training in Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Knowledge & Technical Skills
* Strong understanding of national and international HSES standards, regulations, and codes of practice, including:
* ISO 45001
* ISO 14001
* ISO 9001
* Solid knowledge of HSES management systems and their application to major projects.
* Proven auditing and investigation capability.
* Experience developing and delivering training programs.
* Strong computer literacy.
Experience
* Minimum 10 years' HSES experience across all phases of major EPC projects within the onshore construction industry.
* Essential experience in Civil, E&I, and SMP disciplines.
* Experience within onshore and/or offshore environments.
