Follows proper safety procedures and standards.Job Duties/Essential FunctionsStocker:Follows merchandising standards and practicesCommunicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and prioritiesWrites list of merchandise to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stockingAligns merchandise, collects and returns stray items, and stocks to maintain high merchandise levels Cuts boxes for display/accessibility of merchandise and cuts twine or shrink-wrap from palletMarks merchandise number on unmarked itemsStocks opened cases onto shelvesMoves and positions pallets of merchandiseStacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full palletsWraps/ties and tags pallets to be returned to steelChecks for correct merchandise signsConstructs and assembles display models as necessaryModifies displays for safe handling by members (e.g. bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges)Pulls loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floorClears the sales floor of debris and sweepsRemoves empty pallets from the sales floor and re-wraps loose merchandiseOperates cardboard baler and trash compactorFollows all safety and security proceduresSpots for Forklift Drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zoneFollows established inventory prep guidelines prior to physical inventoryFollows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standardsHelps members to load large items into their cart, directs them to merchandise, and relates merchandise status knowledgeAssists in other departments of the warehouse as necessaryProvides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliersAbility to operate vehicles, equipment or machineryManual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, forklift, battery charger, pallets, cart, flatbed, broom, wheeled bin, rubbish compactor, cardboard baler, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, cutter, sticker marking gun, shrink wrap machine, license labels, RF gun, computer, printer, calculator, writing utensils, diamond tester, case alarms, electronic merchandise, cameras, cash register, table top/hand-held scannersQualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)Education/Training:High School Certificate or higherLicenses/Certifications:None; orCurrent forklift driving licenceExperience/Skills:Strong customer service skills, sales, merchandising or comparable experienceStrong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and organisational skillsProblem solving and critical thinking skillsData entry and data managementGoogle Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) & and basic knowledge of AS400Basic math skills Other specific requirementsSatisfactory Criminal Record Check for certain roles* If successful, you will be required to undertake role & department specific training within specified timeframesProfessional confidentiality is assured for all applications received.
