**About us**
The North West Metropolitan area covers 14 local government areas, Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Melbourne, Moonee Valley, Moreland, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, and Yarra to the north, and Brimbank, Hobson's Bay, Maribyrnong, Melton, and Wyndham to the west.
**The opportunity**
The General Manager, Community Services oversees the Planning and Service Integration Unit (PSIU) leading a team of approximately 18 in the delivery of the North West Metropolitan Area's (NWMA) Consumer Affairs Victoria, Community Crime Prevention activities and other community-based programs and is accountable for the performance of these community-based services.
Some of your duties will include:
- Lead and manage regional staff responsible for the delivery of a range of justice services ensuring the continuous improvement of services delivered to the community.
- Lead the development of key regional strategies, including the regional business plan, to achieve the strategic goals and operational objectives of the area and the Department of Justice and Community Safety (department).
- Lead, influence and actively contribute to the development and implementation of identified service innovation and integration priorities and activities.

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering community based statutory services.
- Demonstrated experience in operational service delivery across multiple teams over a large geographic region.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline would be highly regarded.
