Taylor Made Joinery is a high-end architectural joinery company specialising in solid timber and veneer joinery, though our work spans all aspects of custom joinery. We work on some of Sydney's most prestigious residential projects, delivering bespoke, high-quality joinery and furniture that meets the highest standards of design and craftsmanship.
Our modern workshop is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, including a 2022 SCM X200 CNC, allowing us to combine traditional craftsmanship with precision manufacturing.
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Cabinet Maker / Architectural Joiner to join our workshop team. This role is hands-on and central to delivering the quality and finish our projects are known for.
About the Role
As a Cabinet Maker at Taylor Made Joinery, you will be involved in the full build process of high-end residential joinery, from solid timber features to detailed veneer work. Your responsibilities will include:
* Manufacturing high-quality custom joinery and furniture from detailed shop drawings.
* Working with solid timber, veneers, sheet goods, and specialty materials to achieve premium finishes.
* Assembling, fitting, and finishing joinery components to exacting standards.
* Reading and interpreting architectural and shop drawings accurately.
* Collaborating closely with the drafting, CNC, and project management teams to ensure smooth production flow.
* Problem-solving on the workshop floor to resolve construction or detailing challenges.
* Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
* Assisting with on-site installation where required.
* Upholding Taylor Made Joinery's quality control standards at every stage of production.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in their work and understands the nuances of high-end architectural joinery. The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Cabinet Maker or equivalent trade experience.
Proven experience in high-end residential or architectural joinery.
Strong understanding of joinery construction methods, materials, and finishes.
Experience working with solid timber and veneer joinery.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Good communication skills to liaise with workshop staff, project managers, and installers.
Experience working alongside CNC-produced components (hands-on CNC experience is a bonus but not essential).
A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills.
