About the Role
The Financial Operations Director is responsible for leading all financial and commercial aspects of the operation, with a strong focus on warehousing. This role ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while driving cost control and supporting operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost management for the site
* Oversee warehousing, inventory control, and procurement, ensuring stock accuracy, cost efficiency, and compliance with corporate guidelines
* Analyse operational costs and identify opportunities for savings and process improvement
* Manage and negotiate financial and vendor contracts, ensuring value, compliance, and risk mitigation
* Provide financial insights to support decisions on capital projects, equipment purchases, and business planning
* Maintain robust internal controls and ensure timely, accurate reporting in line with accounting standards
* Lead and develop a high-performing finance team focused on accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
* Degree in Accounting or Commerce with CA/CPA qualification
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior finance or commercial role within mining or heavy industry
* Proven experience using SAP and Xeras
* Strong commercial acumen with a focus on cost optimisation and process improvement
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation
