Role Overview
Flinders Ports are seeking to appoint a Marine Services Team Member for work in Whyalla, South Australia.
This is a Casual opportunity and the successful incumbent is required to be readily available to work 4 hour blocks over a span of hours & days within a 7 day/ 24 hour Period (day, evening and midnight shifts) to meet with our operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
The Marine Services Team Member is responsible for participating in the day-to-day operations associated with barge operations as well as other tasks such as:
* Conduct safe mooring of vessels (tie ups and let go's);
* Perform relief Barge Master duties;
* Radio communication with Tug vessels;
* Computer data entry using Microsoft Excel;
* General maintenance work;
* Barge preparation and clean up; and
* Ensuring a safe work environment by adhering to strict safety procedures.
About you
To be successful in this position you will be a driven and eager applicant who has experience working in teams and is safety conscious.
Full training will be provided, however any previous experience working in manual handling or general labouring is desirable. This role includes physical duties such as lifting up to 20–25kg and requires good upper body strength and cardiovascular endurance.
A current driver's licence is also required for this role.
