Business Development Director – Member Growth

Role Purpose:
To drive the growth of the BNI Gold Coast & Tweed Shire Region by identifying and attracting new members into existing and newly forming BNI chapters. This role plays a pivotal part in expanding the BNI GCTS network, increasing chapter vitality, and ensuring each seat is filled with the right business professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
o Identify and research local business professionals and industries underrepresented in BNI chapters.
o Create and manage a pipeline of prospective members.
o Attend local business events, expos, and networking functions to promote BNI.
o Present the value proposition of BNI to potential members using compelling, benefit-driven language.
o Conduct one-to-one consultations to determine alignment and fit with BNI values and culture.
o Guide interested prospects through the application process.
o Collaborate with Chapter Directors to identify membership needs and category opportunities.
o Ensure a smooth handover from prospect to chapter visit, to assist with conversion from prospect to member.
o Work with the regional team to create and execute member recruitment campaigns.
o Share success stories and member testimonials to support brand credibility and trust.
o Maintain accurate records of contacts, follow-ups, and conversions in the CRM system.
o Provide regular reports and updates on KPIs and goals to the Executive Director.

Attributes & Skills Required:
• Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or relationship-based sales.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong alignment with BNI Core Values.
• Self-motivated, goal-driven, and comfortable with KPIs.
• Collaborative team player who thrives in a community-focused environment.
• Understanding of small business needs and challenges.
• Tech-savvy – comfortable using CRM, social platforms, and digital tools.
