Building Investigations Officer
This role involves providing customer-focused service to ensure buildings and other structures are built and maintained in accordance with relevant legislation.
The successful candidate will review and investigate complaints relating to potential breaches of the legislation, participate in joint investigations with other authorities/agencies, and provide advice and support to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in reviewing and investigating complaints relating to potential breaches of the legislation.
* Carry out site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
* Undertake joint investigations with staff from other departments, prepare relevant documentation, and institute legal proceedings as directed.
* Provide a professional advisory service to clients.
* Assist with administration of applicable legislation and maintain administrative systems.
* Participate in an on-call emergency roster.
About You:
* You will have knowledge of policies and practices, awareness of current trends and issues, and proficient theoretical and practical knowledge to interpret legislation.
* Essential Experience: Degree or tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying and Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
