We are seeking a local Karratha resident to join a friendly and dynamic Karratha Supply Base team, based in Gap Ridge Industrial Estate.
The Equipment (Container) Inspector is responsible for conducting visual inspections and non‐destructive testing (NDT) on offshore containers and lifting equipment across our rental fleet, leased assets, and third‐party equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform visual inspections and NDT activities independently, both on‐site and off‐site, including completion of inspection reports.
* Monitor inspection schedules, certification requirements, and communicate due dates with clients.
* Carry out container mobilisation, maintenance, inspection, and operational support activities.
* Assist other OEG container bases as required.
* Support the development and improvement of operational procedures and quality systems.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Prepare certification documentation and associated records.
* Discuss inspection and compliance requirements with clients and site supervision.
* Maintain workshop and warehouse facilities.
* Coordinate equipment transport with logistics providers and repair facilities.
* Inspect offshore containers, baskets, slings, shackles, and related lifting equipment.
* Conduct NDT examinations in accordance with company procedures and certification requirements.
* Clean, maintain, and service equipment to ensure operational readiness.
* Participate in quality assurance audits and compliance activities.
* Manage inventory and supplies, including spare parts, safety equipment, and consumables.
Skills & Experience
Desirable:
* NATA certification
* Experience with MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) and Eddy Current NDT methods
* Trade qualification
* Forklift licence
* Experience in oilfield logistics, offshore containers, or related industries
* Knowledge of offshore container, lifting equipment, and inspection standards
* Strong mechanical aptitude
* Proficient computer skills
