About Us
Master Apps is a dynamic and fast-growing tech organisation dedicated to delivering scalable software solutions. As we continue to expand, we're looking for a seasoned Fullstack Python Developer to take a hands on role in development, shaping architecture, and building momentum developing our products to meet our strategic objectives.
The Role
As a Fullstack Python Developer, you'll help build and maintain our core backend systems in Python while contributing to important frontend components. You'll work on full-stack features from implementation through to release, collaborating with product, design and operations to deliver clean, reliable solutions that support our broader product goals.
You'll contribute to improving our infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD workflows and overall system performance, while helping ensure our codebase stays secure, well tested and maintainable. You'll take ownership of the features you build, offer input during technical discussions and actively participate in shaping good engineering practices.
As our team grows, you'll have opportunities to share knowledge, contribute to code reviews and help strengthen the team's technical capability without carrying formal leadership responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
* 3–5 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Python backend development.
* Practical experience working across both backend and frontend components in production environments.
* Able to design and implement reliable services, with a growing confidence in system architecture and scaling considerations.
* Working knowledge of modern frontend technologies (React, Angular, Vue) and an understanding of how frontend and backend pieces fit together.
* Experience working with databases (SQL or NoSQL), APIs, microservices, version control, and basic CI/CD practices.
* Strong communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and explain technical decisions clearly.
* Comfortable participating in code reviews, contributing ideas, and supporting team quality standards.
* Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* Experience working in agile teams and adapting to shifting priorities and requirements.
* Bonus: exposure to cloud platforms, containerisation tech like Docker/Kubernetes, and monitoring or observability tools.
Working Arrangements
* This role is designed with genuine flexibility in mind. While we're fully supportive of remote work, we're ideally looking for someone who is within reasonable proximity to either Melbourne or Sydney.
* The team comes together in person roughly one day each month, and our office space is always open for anyone who prefers to work on site more often, including full time.
* We are committed to building a connected team culture. Because of the nature of the work, applicants must have full Australian working rights and be based in Australia at the time of application.

* A cover letter or brief note – summarising one significant project you led end-to-end (from design to deployment) and the impact it had.
* Links to any relevant code samples, GitHub repos or architecture sketches (optional but appreciated).
