The Opportunity
Veris are seeking a Senior Monitoring Surveyor to lead a small, focused team of surveyors on a major infrastructure project in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs.
In this specialised role, you will act as the hands-on leader for all structural and ground deformation monitoring programs(Survey). You will coordinate daily tasks for your small team, run high-precision networks, and ensure the structural integrity of critical assets surrounding this complex project.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Leadership: Coordinate, schedule, and support a small team of field surveyors executing daily monitoring tasks.
* Methodology & Control: Design manual and automated monitoring regimes and maintain stable, high-precision geodetic control networks.
* Data Oversight: Run survey calculations and adjustments,analysingdata to isolate actual structural movement from environmental noise.
* System Management: Oversee the setup ofdata transfer systemsand specialized monitoring software (e.g.,GeoMos, T4D& StarNet).
* Risk & Reporting: Manage alert systems and deliver clear, compliance-ready monitoring reports to project stakeholders.
About You
* Senior/Lead Capability: Proven engineering surveying experience with the leadership skills needed to run a small team effectively.
* Monitoring Focus: Strong background in high-precision deformation monitoring and geodetic network adjustments.
* Technical: Proficient with 12d Model / 12d Field and high-precision Leica or Trimble hardware (robotic total stations and digital levels).
* Qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Surveying, White Card, and a proactive approach to site safety.
