Turner Family Law is a well-established, busy legal practice in Traralgon (Gippsland's Latrobe Valley) practicing exclusively in family law matters. We pride ourselves on down to earth, expert legal advice and representation to our clients during some of the most challenging times in their lives. Our team is dedicated to achieving the best outcomes whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care. We currently comprise a Principal practitioner, law clerk and legal assistant. We undertake private and Legal Aid matters.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Family Law Solicitor to join our dynamic team. The role involves managing a varied case load of family law matters including child arrangements, financial settlements and divorce applications. There are plenty of opportunities for court appearances and attendance at mediations or conciliation conferences. You will be an integral part of our firm, contributing to our reputation for excellence in client care and legal expertise.
We may be open to a part-time arrangement for the right Applicant. We will provide administrative and professional support with an opportunity to build upon your skill set.
Qualifications & experience
You would hold an active practising certificate and be admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Managing a diverse caseload of family law matters from their commencement to their resolution (depending on experience).
- Providing clear, empathetic, and tailored legal advice to clients.
- Drafting legal documents, including Court Applications, Affidavits, Binding Financial Agreements and Consent Orders.
- Representing clients in Mediations and Court proceedings.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the development of the family law team.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of family law and associated legislation.
- All aspects of family law including divorce and separation matters, parenting disputes and children's matters, financial agreements, mediation and property settlements.
About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of two years post admission experience (PAE) in Family Law.
- A moderate to robust understanding of family law, including both parenting and property matters.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters empathically.
- Moderate to strong drafting and advocacy skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to delivering outstanding service.
