Senior Gardener – HandypersonPart‐time, Permanent (Full‐Time Equivalent: 0.5)Commencing Term 2, 2026
Location
Churchlands Senior High School, Churchlands, Western Australia
Overview
Maintain school grounds, provide gardening and facility management, and perform minor repairs and maintenance to ensure a safe, vibrant and clean environment.
Responsibilities
* Plant, prune, fertilise and maintain hedges, lawns, beds and waterways.
* Manage turf, flower beds, trees and shrubs, applying best horticultural practices.
* Maintain gardening equipment, including safe storage and handling of chemicals.
* Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks as directed.
* Use safe work practices and comply with the Department's policies and guidelines.
* Work collaboratively with the grounds team and independently when required.
Qualifications & Experience
* Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
* Experience servicing horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs.
* Knowledge of gardening methods, safe use and storage of equipment, materials and chemicals.
* Experience in coordinating and supervising staff or volunteers.
Eligibility Requirements
* Valid Working With Children Check.
* Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid visa with work rights for the term of appointment.
