About the opportunity
The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) has an exciting opportunity for someone who is driven to serve the communities of NSW, working within a strong team of likeminded professional staff and volunteers to modernise and grow the organisation.
You will utilise your skills and experience to develop and deliver a range of projects and initiatives that will greatly enhance the NSW SES. Along with other capability areas, the role includes a key focus on developing aviation capabilities (rotary and RPAS) and supporting aviation partnerships with other agencies. The role may also require you to undertake the duties of the NSW SES Chief Remote Pilot (RPAS).
Your ability to manage projects, think laterally, solve problems, and engage effectively with stakeholders will be utilised daily, providing you an opportunity to develop and excel in these areas. You will be exposed to and play a key role in building capability development relationships across government agencies and industry at both a state and national level.
You will also provide capability and coordination support to NSW SES operations during emergencies and disasters, including deployment within the State Command Centre or Zone Incident Control Centres as required.

About you
To be successful in this role you will:
Be able to interpret complex information and present it in plain English to a diverse range of stakeholders
Be an exceptional communicator both verbally and written, and have a high attention to detail
Have strong experience planning and managing projects from conception to completion
Be able to effectively manage your time, prioritise workload and show initiative
Have experience in critical analysis and problem solving
Thorough knowledge of AIIMS principles and processes, and/or willingness to obtain competence within 12 months
Provide support to SES operations during times of emergency/disaster within its State Command Centre or a Zone Incident Control Centre
Experience and qualifications in aviation/ RPAS (field operations / management / training / policy) or willingness to obtain within 12 months
