About The Role
As a Cloud Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, automating, protecting, and maintaining robust IT systems and environments that support mission-critical applications across hybrid and cloud infrastructures.
Be responsible for backing up and protecting business data and IT systems.
Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
Research, develop, and deploy automation, orchestration, and configuration management tools for cloud and virtualised environments.
Ensure efficient functioning of IT solutions and services in line with security policies and best practices.
Safeguard systems against cybersecurity threats and ensure compliance with security standards.
Work closely with engineering teams to implement the most effective cloud-based solutions.
Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise infrastructure and cloud services and recommend process improvements.
Provide support outside normal business hours as required, including participation in a rotating on-call roster.
About You
Extensive experience designing and managing enterprise-grade backup solutions (Commvault, Metallic, Azure Backup).
Experience in designing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
Extensive experience with cloud and virtualised architectures (Azure, GCP, AWS, VMWare).
Demonstrated experience deploying infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
Demonstrated experience with CI/CD platforms (Azure DevOps).
Experience building, managing, and automating server operating systems (Windows and Red Hat Linux).
Experience with enterprise directory and identity solutions (Active Directory, Azure Authentication, Single sign-on, MFA).
Proficiency with configuration management and orchestration tools (Ansible, DSC).
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Shell, etc.).
Knowledge and application of security and compliance standards in infrastructure.
Graduate degree in Information Technology.
Experience or working knowledge of containerised applications using Docker and orchestrated with Kubernetes (AKS/GKE).
Familiarity with Agile and ITIL processes.
Self-initiator with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
