An opportunity is available for a Construction Officer – Utilities Construction to join a utilities team responsible for the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. Working as part of a supportive crew, you will assist with operational works including plant operation, infrastructure maintenance, and supporting the water hydrant maintenance program.
This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, operating machinery, and contributing to essential community infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
* Operate plant and machinery including backhoe, tipper truck, and front-end loader
* Perform a variety of physical labouring duties
* Support the water hydrant maintenance program
* Deliver high-quality customer service while working across utilities operations
* Work safely and collaboratively as part of a team
Essential Requirements

* Experience operating backhoe and other relevant plant equipment (e.g. tipper truck, front-end loader)
* Ability to perform physical labouring duties
* Class C Driver Licence
* White Card – Work Safely in the Construction Industry
* Current Hepatitis A & B immunisation or willingness to undertake the program
Desirable
* Experience in pipe laying
* HR Driver Licence
* Confined Spaces Certificate
