Maintenance Handyman and Construction Labourer
New Home Builder
We are seeking an experienced motivated Handyman and Construction labourer to join our fast past team. Successful candidates require general knowledge in all aspects of residential new housing maintenance and laboring work.

It would be expected that the successful applicants be physically fit and able to carry out strenuous tasks at times.
Applicant must possess the following attributes:
* General labouring duties
* Ensure sites are cleaned and maintained throughout construction to company standards
* Organise, measure, pick up and deliver materials to site as required
* Using a variety of tools and machines such as drills, levels, power dills, grinders, nail guns, jack hammers, saws, pressure washers, etc
* Set up and take down ladders and other temporary structures
* Ensure that equipment on sites is kept secure and well maintained
* Complete responsibility for the security of all company tools and equipment
* Have a good eye for detail and quality craftsmanship
* Adaptable skills for maintenance for new housing works
* Travel to and from different work sites across Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter Valley Regions completing check lists and defect lists set by supervisor to company standards
* Perform maintenance repair works in the first instance on every job (apart from ac, plumbing and electrical), i.e. repair door locks, shelving, doors, skirting and architraves, soffits, replace tiles, grout touch-ups, silicone, brickwork mortar patching, general carpentry tasks, small patching plastering jobs, painting including preparation works
* Ensure supplies within company vehicle are constantly stocked to ensure works and jobs are completed in productive, timely manner
* Ensure working schedules and emails are reviewed daily to plan work efficiently and productively for the following day or week ahead
* Ensure sites remain secure and always locked
* Take daily photos of each site before, after works and upload to our data base
* Closely monitor hiring of skip bins making sure bins are packed tightly with no air pockets
* Make sure calls, text messages and emails are returned promptly
* Provide support to site supervisor, construction, and office team members in timely manner
* Liaise with clients and PJC team members to ensure satisfactory completion of works are carried out to company standards
* Liaise with site supervisor and extended PJC team members to provide recommendations for improvement
* Assist in the mentoring and training of staff and sub-contractors to ensure company standards are met
* Ensure company truck is serviced on due date, keep truck clean and maintained at all times
* Other duties as instructed.
The successful applicant will have:
* Handyman background in residential new homes (minimum of 3-5 years' experience desired)
* An unencumbered drivers' licence
* Intermediate level in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and data programmes
* Ability to maintain a consistent and very high standard of work
* Must be able to work unsupervised, be part of team and able to think outside the square as a problem solver
* Must present well, have great communication and customer relation skills
* Be reliable, honest, trustworthy, punctual and have a "Can Do" attitude
* Strong organizational skills with ability to work to deadlines
