About the Role
The Academic Librarian & Learning Support Officer supports teaching, learning, and research at SCEI-HE, with a strong focus on the Master of Teaching (Early Childhood and Primary). The role integrates library management with academic learning support, ensuring students meet required academic literacy and numeracy standards. Working closely with academic staff and student services, the role contributes to student success and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage physical and digital library collections, databases, and subscriptions aligned with curriculum and accreditation needs
* Provide academic learning support, including literacy and numeracy development, academic writing, research, and referencing
* Deliver workshops and develop learning resources embedded in the LMS
* Support pre-service teachers to meet literacy and numeracy competency requirements
* Collaborate with academic staff to integrate resources and support into curriculum
* Maintain records and contribute to audits, course reviews, and quality assurance processes
About You
Essential
* Tertiary qualification in education, academic support or a related field
* Experience in learning support and/or academic library services
* Demonstrated experience supporting academic literacy and numeracy, preferably in teacher education
* Strong communication and organisational skills
Desirable
* Knowledge of TEQSA and VIT standards
* Experience supporting blended or online learning and diverse student cohorts
