Role Description
This is a full time on-site role for a Senior Electrical Estimator, located in Port Melbourne, VIC. The Senior Electrical Estimator will be responsible for supporting the civil and electrical estimating team. As a seasoned individual you will be responsible for end to end tender management including working with the team in preparing & reviewing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical projects, managing cost control processes, liaising with clients and subcontractors, and collaborating with the engineering and project management teams. This role involves complete ownership of tenders from to RFQ to final submission then handover.
Experience & Responsibilities.
* Experience in Electrical Estimating and Cost Control
* Experience in writing methodologies and creating project schedules
* Knowledge of Electrical Contracting, Construction & Infrastructure Industries
* Proficiency in Electrical Engineering principles and practices with the ability to identify and rectify incomplete electrical and civil designs.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
* Management of the full tender life cycle, including delegation of tenders to junior estimators, vetting of supplier and subcontractor quotes and calculating preliminaries and margin based on the business requirements whilst keeping in line with market rates
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present tenders and opportunities to senior management
* Understanding program, scope creep, wage increase, preliminary costs and other factors that aren't on the drawings but are required to deliver a successful profitable project.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders with various internal and external stakeholders
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to mentor junior employees and provide guidance
* Ability to review and negotiate favorable contract terms
* Ability to develop accurate and implement labour forecasts & project budgets
* High-level of computer skills, including being proficient in Conest, Bluebeam and Microsoft office suite
* Electrical Engineering degree or A Grade Electrical License preferred
* Ability to attend site visits when needed (Drivers license required)
