The Role
Square is looking for a Territory Account Executive to bring a local experience to our Sellers (customers/merchants) across the most promising markets. This individual‑contributor, hunter, field‑based sales role focuses on generating current business, building relationships, and driving pipeline and revenue.
You Will
- Sell face‑to‑face 80% of the time, performing discovery and demos to generate interest and close deals on our ecosystem.
- Maintain pulse on active Square Sellers in the community, partnering with account management and support to generate referrals.
- Engage onboarding teams to ensure successful implementation for new sellers.
- Build a sustainable top‑of‑funnel pipeline via walking the city, 50‑60 drop‑ins per week, referral channels, strategic partners, and local events.
- Develop deep on‑hand skill for demos and onboarding of Square hardware and software solutions.
- Collaborate with the channel sales team to identify complementary partners and strengthen referral channels.
- Cultivate a profound understanding of the business and technology needs of restaurants, retail, and services verticals.
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Utilize Salesforce to track, monitor, and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and outcomes.
You Have
- 3+ years of full‑cycle closing experience in field sales.
- Track record of exceeding sales targets, selling diverse ecosystems, and closing complex deals.
- Ability to drive deals independently in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Business development experience (e.g., hunting and cold calling).
- Reliable transportation and residence in the market you serve.
- Collaborative and team‑player mindset.
- Prior Salesforce experience or equivalent.
- 2+ years of payment processing or related technology experience (e.g., payroll, loyalty, time management).
- 1+ year of relevant audience experience in restaurants, retailers, or service‑based businesses.
