Manager and Assistant Cabinet Legislation
to support senior executives across the department. The role is based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Pay range: A$147,******/yr – A$156,******/yr
What you'll do
Lead the coordination, oversight and quality assurance of DOJ's Cabinet and legislation programme.
Provide authoritative advice on Cabinet processes, legislation timetabling and implementation.
Review and critically analyse Cabinet submissions to ensure alignment with whole-of-government priorities and standards.
Build and maintain strategic relationships across government, including the Office of the Attorney-General, central agencies and senior executives.
Represent DOJ in high-level forums and negotiate outcomes on complex or sensitive matters.
Oversee the secure preparation and dispatch of the Cabinet bag and manage Cabinet and parliamentary documentation.
Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives and reform projects within the team.
Provide leadership, coaching and performance oversight to two direct reports.

Sound judgement, resilience and the ability to manage high-risk, time-sensitive matters.
Strong conceptual, analytical and writing skills with an eye for quality and detail.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence senior and executive audiences.
A collaborative approach and the ability to build trust quickly.
Qualifications in law, public policy or public administration (desirable but not mandatory).
