An exciting opportunity for a skilled Risk and Safety Officer who thrives on coaching leaders and driving continuous improvement in workplace health and safety. 
This role is based in the heart of the Barossa. 
Responsibilities 
Review and enhance the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management System to align with legislation, codes of practice, Australian Standards, and Council objectives. 
Educate, guide, and embed safe practices that minimise risk, support compliance, and improve service delivery. 
Update secure systems of work, develop control documents, refine task risk assessments, and implement a new Verification of Competency process for mobile plant. 
Utilise risk registers and incident investigation processes; work with staff to navigate differing viewpoints and support cultural change. 
Qualifications 
Experience implementing and improving Risk and Safety Frameworks in an operational environment. 
Effective incident management skills and ability to engage relevant stakeholders to reach resolution. 
Experience interpreting and applying legislation and statutory requirements practically. 
Solid knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012, Local Government Act 1999, Return to Work Act 2014, and related regulations. 
Practical problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. 
Position Details 
Full-time, permanent position at General Officer Level 4 ($86,845.83 - $92,974.99 p.a.) under the Enterprise Agreement 2022.
