Your Role
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, the Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for providing local technical expertise to the factory operations and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement in factory reliability and performance. This will be achieved through the identification of ongoing or emerging impacts on factory reliability, costs and operational performance, and delivery of initiatives or projects that lead to overall improvement in factory performance.
This role helps to ensure engineering standards, compliance, best practices, and governance are upheld while aligning site operations with company policies supporting long-term asset reliability and lifecycle performance.
Main responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Accountable for the execution of proactive safety initiatives within site engineering activities and for ensuring compliance with company policies and legislative requirements
* Responsible for providing day-to-day technical support to operations and maintenance teams, including troubleshooting equipment issues and supporting breakdown and defect resolution through to elimination.
* Responsible for supporting plant availability and performance targets through engineering analysis, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Responsible for contributing engineering input to failure investigations, risk assessments, and change management processes
About You
As a minimum you will hold:
* Mechanical Trade Certificate and Associate-Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a technical role or
* Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and a min of 3 years' experience in a technical role.
* Must currently hold Full working Rights for Australia and an Australian Drivers License.
* Ability to work effectively in diverse teams and collaborate across disciplines, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
* A thorough understanding of the Workplace Health & Safety Act and associated Australian Standards.
* Proficient in mechanical and process design software including AutoCAD
* Experience in fluid based mechanical systems such as complex hydraulics, thermodynamics, and pumping system development, commissioning, and fault finding is well regarded but not essential.
* Computer literacy in Microsoft applications and Maintenance Management systems including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP applications (SAP).
