Melbourne is finally getting its very first authentic Friterie, bringing the beloved Belgian inspired street food experience to the Chapel St, and we're looking for a dedicated individual to join our enthusiastic opening team
The Role: Prep/Fry Cook and Customer Service
This is a versatile, full-time role that is crucial to the success of our new business. You will be the heart of the kitchen and the face of our service, responsible for delivering consistently high-quality food and an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities (Kitchen Focus)
· Prep Work: Assist with all daily preparation, including preparing dipping sauces, chopping potatoes, and ensuring ingredients are fresh and ready for service.
· Frying Mastery: Operate deep fryers to cook our signature, double-fried Belgian-style fries and other menu items to perfection, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to our high standards.
· Quality Control: Maintain the quality and presentation of all food items.
· Hygiene & Safety: Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and workstations.
Key Responsibilities (Customer Service Focus)
· Order Taking: Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process transactions efficiently using our POS system.
· Customer Interaction: Respond to customer inquiries, provide menu recommendations, and ensure every customer has a positive, friendly experience.
· Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the front-of-house and dining areas.
What We're Looking For (Required)
· Experience: Proven experience (1+ year) in a commercial kitchen or fast-paced hospitality environment, preferably with deep-frying experience.
· Availability: Must be available for a flexible full-time schedule, including evenings and weekends.
· Attitude: A high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic.
· Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Commitment: Reliability and punctuality are essential.
· Legal: Valid working rights in Australia.
Desirable Skills
· Current Food Handler's certificate.
· Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
