Position : Café Worker
Position Type : Full-Time
Salary : $68,000 to $78,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location : Apollo Bay VIC 3233
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Café Worker to join their café located in Apollo Bay, Victoria.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service to all patrons, ensuring a welcoming café experience
* Take customer orders accurately and process payments
* Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, using commercial coffee-making equipment in accordance with café standards.
* Operate and clean coffee machines, grinders, and other café equipment to support daily café operations.
* Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness in compliance with health and safety regulations
* Clean and maintain workstations, kitchen equipment, and utensils so they are ready for use
* Clean and reset dining areas to ensure they are ready for incoming patrons.
* Monitor stock levels, restock supplies and assist with inventory control
* Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally and efficiently
* Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
* Open and close the café as required, including cash handling and end-of-day procedures
* Comply with workplace policies, procedures and WHS requirements
* Support peak service periods by working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
* AQF Certificate I in relevant field or completion of compulsory secondary education
* Must have at least 12 months of experience in a café environment
* Previous experience using coffee-making equipment to prepare beverages in a café environment
* Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification is preferred
* Knowledge of food handling and hygiene standards
* Strong customer service and communication skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Willingness to work weekends, public holidays and flexible hours.
