Role Purpose
The Facilities and Property Officer ensures the upkeep and enhancement of school grounds and facilities.
Responsibilities include the routine maintenance and repair of the schools' physical assets and infrastructure such as buildings and their associated equipment, furniture, paths, fences, gardening, landscaping and cleaning.
The role also involves identifying and mitigating safety hazards, supporting event setups, and adhering to WHS protocols.
Strong handy-person skills and efficient task management within the online maintenance system are required.
Additional duties may be assigned by the Campus Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs
Perform general repairs and ongoing maintenance of school buildings, furniture, and equipment
Conduct safety checks and inspections for compliance and reliability
Operate tools and machinery safely, following WHS guidelines
Set up and support school events, including equipment and furniture assembly
Manage and complete tasks using the school's online maintenance system
Grounds Care & Cleaning
Maintain outdoor areas through mowing, pruning, weeding, spraying, and mulching
Undertake cleaning activities such as cobweb removal, pressure washing, blowing leaves, and general tidying
Appropriately use and store chemicals, equipment, and related supplies
Support landscaping or garden improvement projects as needed
General Operational Support
Follow WHS procedures and act as a safety advocate across campus
Assist with event set-up/pack-down and ad hoc cleaning tasks
Purchase and manage maintenance-related consumables in line with School policies
Operate emergency and security systems as trained; serve as Fire Warden if required
Remain available for occasional after-hours duties and on-call tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
Drivers Licence.
LR or HR desirable
General Construction Induction (White) Card
Forklift licence (desirable)
