Brief Description
About The Role
The Senior Fraud Claims investigator will be the subject matter expert based in Claims and Assessing undertaking consultative and claims case investigative work on fraud prevention, detection, and investigation. May also be utilized in terms of expertise across the wider Auto & General business.
Position Accountabilities
* Conducts in-depth investigations of evidence and/or allegations of suspicious activity such as fraud or syndicates activities.
* Conduct virtual face-to-face interviews with customer, witness, or other parties.
* Investigate, complex suspicious claims or suspicious fraudulent insurance related activities covering all areas of the Claims & Assessing business.
* Acquires documentation or permission required to authorize investigatory activities; adheres to the scope and parameters set forth therein.
* Collaborates and coordinates with law enforcement officers and attorneys concerning investigative efforts.
* Managing all aspects of the claims investigation relating to suspicious claims including providing reports and guidance to other instructed experts such as building assessors and loss adjusters.
* Develop and undertake advanced interview and behavioral fraud investigation training for both the Fraud Team and appropriate staff across Claims & Assessing.
* Develop and deliver appropriate Fraud training programmes for all Claims & Assessing staff
* Undertake open file reviews with the Fraud & Investigations Team, coaching and developing staff to optimize Fraud Investigation methodologies.
* Completing targeted Closed File Review Programmes, with a focus on Fraud to ensuring that suggestions for improvement are closely aligned to process improvement and training/ development plans.
* Develop a clear understanding of Industry trends and opportunities both in terms of fraudulent/ criminal activity and technological advances to ensure that Auto & General remain aware of and engaged in early business opportunities.
* Maintain sound knowledge of Regulatory requirements, company processes, systems, products, and brands.
* Assist Head of Fraud and Claims Investigation, Claims Specialist or Manager, Risk Assessment Hub with additional projects or tasks.
What experience you'll bring;
* Certificate III Investigative Services highly regarded.
* 2 Years investigations experience within a financial sector.
* High performing individual with strong integrity and target driven.
* A thorough knowledge of evidence collection and expertise in pursuing lines of enquiry within the Insurance Industry.
* Understanding of the Insurance Contracts Act, Criminal Law, disclosure, non-disclosure, and materiality.
* Strong Verbal and written communication skills Extensive Insurance Fraud Investigative Experience.
* Extensive Knowledge of Internal systems, Databases, and Investigative Tools.
