The Department of Philosophy at Macquarie University is currently seeking to make a four year fixed-term appointment for a Lecturer in Philosophy. The appointee will be expected to contribute to the teaching of the curriculum in the Mind, Meaning and Metaphysics stream, including existing courses in philosophy of science, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of cognitive science. Applicants who take an empirically-oriented approach to these issues are strongly preferred. The appointee will also be expected to contribute to the delivery of one or more first year philosophy units and to third-year metaphysics. There is the possibility of teaching research-related seminars in our Masters of Research program, and developing new teaching material on empirical approaches to consciousness.
