Role Summary
Drive meaningful change in environmental sustainability by leading the implementation of the University's Environmental Sustainability Plan and embedding sustainability into infrastructure, operations, and culture.
This is a pivotal role that requires expertise in environmentally sustainable design standards across major infrastructure projects, representation in internal and external forums to influence sustainability outcomes, and management of energy and carbon strategies including renewable energy procurement and development of a revised Carbon Management Plan.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance and transparency through key reporting obligations, and overseeing the continued progress towards the University's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the implementation of the University's Environmental Sustainability Plan, delivering key initiatives and aligning with strategic goals.
* Provide expert guidance on environmentally sustainable design standards across major infrastructure projects.
* Represent the University in internal and external forums, influencing and advocating for sustainability outcomes.
* Manage energy and carbon strategies, including renewable energy procurement and development of a revised Carbon Management Plan.
* Oversee key reporting obligations, ensuring compliance and transparency.

* Demonstrated experience in corporate sustainability with a strong track record of delivering initiatives and driving operational outcomes.

* Demonstrated understanding of environmental legislation across all government levels, including applicable standards and codes of practice.
