A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join their growing business.
You will be stepping into a well-established team, overseeing compliance across multiple sites across Nowra and Southern NSW.
You will be responsible for providing support of HSEQ compliance, management plans and procedures across a range of Defence Construction and Remediation projects.
Candidate must hold Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain Defence security clearance.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Supporting project teams in the preparation and implementation of HSEQ documentation, including risk assessments and Safety in Design processes.
* Managing incident investigations and preparing detailed reports in line with ICAM methodology.
* Overseeing hazard and incident reporting procedures to ensure compliance with company standards and processes.
* Promoting a strong safety-first and environmentally responsible culture across project teams and site operations.
* Conducting regular HSEQ inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Providing guidance and support to site teams in the delivery of pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
* Coordinating HSEQ training initiatives, maintaining competency records and ensuring compliance requirements are met.
* Monitoring and analysing HSEQ performance data, contributing to reporting and system improvement initiatives.
* Maintaining and supporting the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure ongoing compliance with accredited standards.
* Preparing project-specific HSEQ documentation to support tender submissions and project delivery requirements where required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a dedicated HSE Advisor role.
* Australian citizenship, required for access to Defence project sites.
* Exposure to civil construction and fit‐out works (highly desirable).
* Demonstrated experience developing and reviewing; HSE Management Plans, SWMS, JHAs, Audit documentation.
* A solid understanding of Quality Management processes.
* Strong ability to work autonomously, managing workload and supporting multiple project teams effectively.
* Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or a related discipline.
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
* A proactive, solutions‐focused approach with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to travel throughout Southern NSW as required.
