We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a highly respected Western Australian engineering business based in Canning Vale. In this Senior Management position, you will lead the planning, resourcing, supervision, and delivery of engineering outputs across multiple projects. You will play a key role in setting standards, supporting your team and ensuring all work meets internal quality requirements as well as client expectations. Your role
* Lead the engineering and drafting teams to deliver practical, compliant and buildable solutions
* Coordinate workloads and resources across projects to meet deadlines, budgets and quality requirements
* Monitor engineering progress, identify issues early and drive timely solutions
* Review and approve designs, enforcing technical standards and specifications
* Provide technical guidance and hands-on problem-solving support to the team
* Mentor and develop engineers and drafters, driving performance, accuracy and accountability
* Foster a positive, professional and safety-focused working environment
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
* Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, ISO requirements and company systems
* Support audits and uphold quality, safety and environmental standards
About you
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent practical experience (highly regarded but not essential)
* Extensive experience in engineering leadership or management within manufacturing, defence, or fabrication industries
* Strong understanding of mechanical and acoustic design principles
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities
* Solid working knowledge of CAD systems and engineering software
* Sound understanding of Australian Standards, contract requirements and quality systems including ISO 9001
* Experience delivering projects within defence, mining, power generation or infrastructure sectors (highly regarded but not essential)
