Our Client Our client is a growing provider of technical and project support services within the oil & gas sector, partnering with major industry leaders across Australia. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Payroll Officer to join their close-knit and collaborative finance team in a newly created role based in Fortitude Valley. The Role Reporting to a dynamic Financial Controller, you will manage end-to-end payroll for a project-based workforce. Working Monday to Wednesday (part-time), you will also play a key role in the upcoming implementation of a new payroll/HRIS system—contributing to process improvements and system transition. Key Responsibilities include; Process weekly end-to-end payroll for approximately 150 employees Verify and reconcile timesheets against project rosters using Excel Manage high-volume onboarding and offboarding Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries Coordinate timesheet approvals for internal and client requirements Support payroll reporting, compliance, and statutory obligations Contribute to system improvements and payroll/HRIS implementation Provide back-up support across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as required About You! You bring proven experience in payroll or a similar accounting role, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage fluctuating volumes in a fast-paced environment. You are confident working with Excel and accounting systems. A proactive problem-solver, you enjoy improving processes, supporting system changes, and working collaboratively across teams.
