Job Title: Permanent Part-Time Gardener Handyperson
voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley is a boutique hotel set on an intimate 70-acre estate, ideally situated at the gateway to the finest vineyards of the Hunter Valley.
This role contributes to the maintenance of the hotel's gardens, building, plant/equipment, and fixtures and fittings around the hotel. As a self-starter, you'll work with limited supervision, ensuring that every day is different and challenging.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain all types of facilities, including gardens, buildings, and equipment across the hotel premises.
* Follow a preventative maintenance calendar to ensure everything works efficiently.
* Maintain the hotel's gardens, including hedges and lawns across the estate.
* Ensure the hotel asset is maintained to a high standard and facilities are always guest-ready.
* Keep gardens, thoroughfares, and hotel spaces clear and free from debris and litter.
* Operate hand tools, light machinery, small/large mowers, trimmers, and other maintenance/gardening equipment.
* Maintain safety and cleanliness in areas inside and outside the hotel, such as car park and pool.
* Monitor supply levels and ensure equipment is ready for use.
* Work safely and responsibly by yourself and with your team.
* Be a friendly face and assist hotel guests when required.
Requirements:
* At least one year of experience in maintenance and gardening.
* All-round knowledge of maintenance/gardening procedures, preferably within the hospitality industry.
* Experience in air conditioning, door lock systems, painting, tiling, basic plumbing, and general furniture repairs is highly advantageous.
* Strong team player attitude and ability to communicate with people across departments.
* Able to maintain high and consistent standards.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Availability to work a 7-day roster with flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
