The Opportunity:
On the back of continued national growth across our Mining, Energy, Transport & Local Government markets, and a strong pipeline of infrastructure work, we are seeking an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to play a leading role in the delivery, technical leadership and growth of our surface infrastructure capability.
Based in Brisbane or Sydney, this role is suited to a hands‑on, technically strong engineer who enjoys being close to projects, clients and teams.
You will work closely with Mining, Energy, Transport & Local Government clients including asset owners, contractors and engineering partners to deliver high‑quality infrastructure outcomes and help shape our growing national portfolio.
What You Bring:
Project Delivery & Technical Leadership
Lead and deliver surface infrastructure projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring outcomes are technically robust, safe, on time and within budget
Provide senior technical input across roads, pavements, drainage, utilities and associated civil infrastructure
Act as a technical authority on projects, supporting design reviews, risk management and constructability
Client Engagement
Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and project partners through consistent delivery excellence
Act as a key point of contact on projects, understanding client needs and translating them into practical engineering solutions
Business Development
Contribute to business development activities by identifying opportunities arising from project delivery and client relationships
Support proposals, tenders and pursuits, bringing a strong delivery and technical lens to win strategies
Generate new business and project opportunities through successful project delivery
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Lead and mentor project teams, providing guidance, feedback and technical development
Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture focused on quality, safety and continuous improvement
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure projects comply with relevant safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
Champion best practice in engineering delivery, risk management and assurance
Industry Contribution
Represent the business through project work, client engagement and selective industry involvement, strengthening our reputation for technical excellence and delivery capability
What You Bring:
With 15 + years' experience you may have come from a design consulting background or led design efforts for an asset owner, contractor or other engineering firm on infrastructure projects
Infrastructure Experience: Proven experience in the design and delivery of infrastructure on Mining, Energy, Transport & Local Government projects.
Leadership Impact: Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and managing medium-scale infrastructure projects.
Growth Focus: Strong business development skills with a track record of winning work.
Client Network: Established relationships with key stakeholders and understanding of the mining and energy sectors through your delivery experience.
Growth Mindset: A proactive leader who embraces change, seeks improvement, and drives innovation.
