Data Networking SME Opportunity

Join a critical project rolling out a major signaling system in the SEQ area, encompassing commissioning major backend systems, extending the control systems network, and introducing new signaling and telecommunications hardware. We are looking for an experienced Telecommunications Data Networking SME to review vital project deliverables and ensure compliance with safety obligations.
What You Will Do:
* Provide expert data network technical advice to authorised personnel.
* Review documentation for design, installation, testing, and commissioning, including associated plans and contractor requests for information.
* Attend and participate in design review workshops and Safety in Design workshops.
* Present at design forums to gain approval from SMEs for significant contractor design decisions within the project.
* Support the development and execution of a knowledge transfer plan from contractors/consultants to staff.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data networking within Operational Technology (OT) environments, specifically with Control Systems Networks or equivalent critical infrastructure.
* Demonstrated practical experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of data network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and industrial equipment.
* Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANS, MPLS, VPNs) and routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP).
* Minimum Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent, or more than five (5) years of Cisco experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of OT/ICS cyber security standards and best practices, including network segmentation and secure remote access.
