The successful applicant will play a central role
in designing and delivering Units that are core
to all students across the School of Creative
Practice in either the Bachelor of Fine Arts
and/or the Bachelor of Creative Industries.
The successful applicant will have a strong
teaching profile with demonstrated positive
student feedback, a track record of research
success and a reputation for excellence in
industry engagement.
This position reports to the Academic Lead
(Staff & Development) for supervision,
workload management and for Performance
Planning and Review (PPR).
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Teach into the core units in the Bachelor of
Fine Arts and the Bachelor of Creative
Industries.
- Facilitate excellence in the School's
undergraduate courses through the
development and delivery of innovative
teaching methods and materials.
- Prepare and deliver physical and virtual
lectures for effective learning outcomes.
- Provide authentic real-world learning and
assessment.
- Post-Graduate Student Supervision.
- Contribute to the School's research
portfolio including attracting external
funding.
- Strengthen partnering relationships with
industry, government, and the community
to advance research and teaching impact.
- Connect with relevant professional and
disciplinary/transdisciplinary communities
and lead and influence your field.
- Implement and administer University policy
within the Faculty with respect to equitable
access to education and workplace health
and safety.
To ensure job flexibility the successful
- appointee may be required to:
- perform any other duties as nominated by
the University consistent with the relevant
classification descriptors detailed in the
Enterprise Agreement. Staff undertaking
any new duties will receive training;
- participate in job rotation or multiskilling in
consultation with their supervisor;

To be appointed as a Lecturer the successful
applicant must meet the position classification
standards outlined in the QUT Enterprise
Agreement (Academic Staff).

Selection Criteria
1. Completion of a doctoral qualification.
2. A strong record of engaged and impactful
research in the creative industries;
evidenced for instance by publications in
relevant high-quality journals; success in
winning competitive research funding from
key national and international funding
bodies; completion of high impact research
projects with government, industry, or
community partners; consultancy with
government, industry, commercial and/ or
professional bodies.
3. Record of a strong teaching profile with
demonstrated positive student feedback.
4. Demonstrated ability in learning and
teaching, including scholarly and
innovative approaches to learning and
teaching as well as successful supervision
of higher degree research students in the
relevant area(s).
5. Demonstrated track record of success in
establishing and maintaining
multidisciplinary teaching and research
project collaborations with industry,
community, and/or government partners in
the arts, education, social services, health,
and/or other sectors, both nationally
and internationally.
6. Demonstrated highly developed
organisational and project management
skills, with evidence of project completions.
7. Demonstrated expertise in entrepreneurial,
experimental, and community-engaged
creative practice, including, digital creative
practices, and immersive media
technologies (virtual, augmented, mixed,
and extended reality).
8. Expertise in one or more of the study
areas (Film, Screen & Animation, Visual
Arts, Music, Acting & Drama, Dance,
Technical Production, Creative Writing)
that aligns with and builds on School
disciplinary strengths.
**Remuneration and Benefits**
The classification for this position is Academic
- Level B (LEVB) which has an annual
- remuneration range of $101,257 to $120,255
- pa. Which is inclusive of an annual salary
- range of $119,829 to $142,312 pa, 17%
- superannuation and leave loading.
