Lead the delivery of complex, high-priority industrial shutdowns and outages across power stations and heavy process infrastructure. You'll be the key point of contact for clients, managing project execution from scope to delivery, ensuring safe, on-time, and in-scope results.
This is a critical leadership role requiring strong technical foundations, stakeholder engagement, and end-to-end project execution skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full ownership of complex projects in power generation and heavy industry, often with high corporate visibility
Lead shutdowns and major outages from planning through to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
Facilitate detailed scope development, resourcing, risk assessments, and execution plans in collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients
Represent the business during all phases of the project – liaising with clients, site teams, vendors, and subcontractors
Conduct planning sessions with suppliers and service providers to align expectations, define deliverables, and manage performance
Provide expertise in execution methodology, risk management, site logistics, and work-pack preparation
Oversee project controls including cost tracking, KPI monitoring, reporting, and schedule integrity
Present regular updates to senior management on project progress, risks, and outcomes
Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements and promote a strong safety culture on site
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' experience leading large-scale industrial projects, shutdowns or outages in sectors such as power generation, mining, oil & gas, or processing
Strong technical understanding of equipment and systems such as boilers, turbines, HRSGs, or large rotating plant
Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end project lifecycle: planning, execution, contractor management, and project close-out
Exceptional client engagement and relationship management skills – you can lead conversations on scope, strategy, and outcomes
Strong understanding of risk mitigation, resource planning, and cost control
Skilled in managing multidisciplinary teams in live industrial environments
Proficient in project management systems – Primavera P6 highly regarded
Trade background or tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, or related field preferred
Previous work in complex live-site environments, such as coal or gas-fired power stations, energy infrastructure, or large-scale process plants
Exposure to asset shutdown planning, constructability assessments, and execution strategy development
Familiarity with contracts such as lump sum, T&M, and NTE, and change management processes
Experience in setting up local project offices, onboarding teams, and coordinating with internal operations, safety, and procurement teams
