Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse to join our Night team at a Specialised Purpose built Dementia specific service. As a key member of the Care team, you will support an excellent care delivery model that prioritises resident needs and creates a homelike environment.
This is a part-time clinical role where you will advise and mentor a team of Specialised Dementia Carers to meet the changing needs of our residents. You will work in collaboration with specialist dementia trainers to develop your expertise and lead by example.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing clinical assessment and input into how best to support residents in all aspects of their lives
* Consulting and mentoring in case management, supporting clinical decision making and professional oversight as a registered nurse
* Implementing and supporting resident comfort focused initiatives
You will be supported by a senior RN on each shift, providing mutual support and collaboration throughout the night. This approach allows both of you to share expertise, assist with challenging cases, and ensure efficient care while fostering a team environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* Current AHPRA registration
* A minimum of 2-3 years experience in an Aged Care setting
* Patient empathy, patience, and a passion for improving quality of life for older people with dementia
* The ability to work independently and show initiative, with a strong focus on teamwork
