About the Department

The Department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The Department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The Department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Division

The Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) delivers secure, reliable, and integrated information and technology platforms, systems, and services that transform education environments and enable a great education for every child and young person. IMTD supports one of the largest technology networks in Victoria, servicing more than 1500 Government schools, 50,000 teachers, and 650,000 students. IMTD leads the Department's technology, digital capability, business systems, and digital transformation through cloud solutions and agile practices focused on user experience, security, and integration.

About the Role

This is an ongoing full time position.

The Product Manager will lead the product strategy and delivery for critical school management applications, including Student Insight (Salesforce-based platform) and legacy systems transition. This role will drive product excellence, technology management, innovation promotion and stakeholder satisfaction while ensuring alignment with educational outcomes and departmental objectives.

The Product Manager is responsible for the school's stakeholder experience and will focus on the discovery and design phases of product development, ensuring effective stakeholder management and negotiation in defining and monitoring product backlogs, grooming backlog items and leading all relevant stakeholder meetings.

* Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills

A deep understanding of risk assessment analysis and process impact assessments

A solid understanding of discovery and design phases

Ability to define and manage product backlogs using Agile methodologies

Excellent communication and facilitation skills are essential

- Proven experience supporting technology management, promoting innovation and supporting Department transformation.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

* Experience managing a large-scale and complex product in an Agile environment

Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills

Demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams

A deep understanding of risk assessment analysis and process impact assessments

A solid understanding of discovery and design phases

Ability to define and manage product backlogs using Agile methodologies

Excellent communication and facilitation skills are essential

Proven experience supporting technology management, promoting innovation and supporting Department transformation

- Accreditation with Working with Children in Children's services.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

* Qualification or certification as a Product Owner/Product Manager

* Strong working and practical knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS), Salesforce or similar.
